It was first and foremost the desire to create something with my own hands that led me to jewelry making. For ecological reasons, it was obvious to start with existing materials.

It was about learning to create, to imagine. It had to be about what I love, and it had to illustrate my convictions. Alter Bijoux was born from that; it's the combination of jewelry and responsible consumption."

Having grown up in the 2000s, my childhood imagination was infused with two different aesthetics: my mother's bold jewelry from the 80s/90s, and my older sisters' colorful costume pearl jewelry.

Today, these memories are a source of inspiration. I combine vintage jewelry with more contemporary elements, with the desire to create eclectic pieces that blend genres and eras.

Alterity (n.f.): The quality of being other, of being distinct

My vision of jewelry is not binary. I believe that by combining different techniques and inspirations, it is possible to create unique pieces.

No fixed calendar, no urgency in creation. Pieces are imagined as inspiration strikes and discoveries are made, which is what makes the practice of upcycling so unpredictable and authentic.

Beyond the environmental dimension, there's a very creative aspect. How do we work with what we already have? How do we optimize resources?

In ALTER creations, it's about contrasts of colors, materials, and patinas. The imperfections of vintage marry with the reflections of the new, giving birth to pieces full of intention.
